[논문요약]
동북아시아의 고대 철학, 문화, 종교 분야 연구에서 지난 수백 년 어쩌면 수 천 년 동안 유지되어온 기본적인 인식틀이 아직도 별다른 변화없이 유지되고 있다. 그러나 최근에는 이 분야의 연구자들에게 낯설게 느껴질지 모르지만, 동북아시아 역사-고고학 분야에서 기존의 인식틀을 근본적으로 재구성해야 할 새로운 발굴과 자료 그리고 새로운 시각들이 등장하고 있다.
필자는 동북아시아의 철학, 종교, 문화 연구의 전통적인 인식틀을 근본적으로 뒤흔드는 새로운 요인으로, (1) 만주 지역을 중심으로 한 ‘요하문명(遼河文明)’의 새로운 고고학적 발견, (2) 동이족과 화화족의 관계를 바라보는 새로운 학설, (3) 익숙한 하-상-주 시대부터 역사시대로 보던 시각을 넘어 요-순 시대부터 역사시대로 보는 새로운 시각의 등장, (4) 요임금과 같은 시대라는 고조선의 실존 가능성을 높이는 새로운 자료의 등장, (5) 동북아시아에서 ‘문명 단계’나 ‘국가 단계’의 시기를 앞당기는 시각 등에 주목해야 한다고 본다.
이 글에서는 동북아시아의 역사, 철학, 종교, 문화 연구에 새로운 지평을 열 수 있는 새로운 자료들을 5가지로 정리해서 소개하였다.
첫째, 만주 지역에서 새롭게 발견된 요하문명(遼河文明)에서는 홍산문화(紅山文化: BC 4500-3000) 후기(BC 3500-3000)에는 이미 ‘초기 문명 단계’ 혹은 ‘초기 국가 단계’에 진입했다고 보고 있다.
둘째, 중국에서 새롭게 등장한 ‘이하선후설(夷夏先後說)’은 요하문명의 주도 세력인 동쪽의 ‘이(夷)’가 서쪽의 ‘하(夏)’보다도 시간적으로나 문화적으로 앞선다는 주장을 담고 있다.
셋째, 요(堯)임금의 도성(都城)인 도사유지(陶寺遺址)의 발견으로 요순시대(堯舜時代)가 이제는 신화시대가 아니라 하-상-주에 앞서서 존재한 정식의 역사시대로 인정되었다.
넷째, 1735년에 쟝 밥티스트 레지(Jean-Baptiste Régis: 1663-1738) 신부가 불어로 쓴 고조선과 고구려 관련 역사 기록이 등장했다는 것이다. 이 책에 의하면 고조선은 요임금 시대부터 존재하였고, 하(夏)-상(商)-주(周)와 경쟁하던 국가였다.
다섯째, 현재 중국학계에서는 ‘문명 단계’ 혹은 ‘국가 단계’의 성립
시기를 BC 3000년대까지 올려보는 새로운 시각이 등장했다.
이러한 새로운 자료들을 따로따로 볼 때와는 다르게, 5가지 자료들을 연결해서 보면 동북아시아 상고사는 물론 철학, 종교, 문화 연구에 많은 새로운 시사점을 줄 수 있다. 또한 이런 새로운 것들을 바탕으로 기존의 인식틀을 벗어난 새로운 인식틀이 필요하다고 본다. 다양한 분야 학자들의 관심과 학문적인 검증을 거쳐서 이를 자료들이 새로운 인식틀을 만드는 데 적극적으로 활용될 수 있기를 바란다.

New Horizons in the Study of Ancient Philosophy, Religion, and Culture in Northeast Asia

[Abstract]
The basic perception framework, which has been maintained for hundreds of years or perhaps thousands of years, is still maintained without any change in Northeast Asian studies of philosophy, culture, and religion. Recently, however, new discoveries, data and new perspectives have emerged that may
seem unfamiliar to researchers in this field, but need to fundamentally reshape the existing perception framework in the field of Northeast Asian history and archaeology.
First, the newly discovered ‘Liaohe Civilization(遼河文明)’ in Manchuria believes that the ‘Hongshan Culture(紅山文化: 4500-3000 BC)’ and the latter (3500-3000 BC) have already entered the ‘Initial Civilization Stage’ or ‘Initial State Stage.’
Second, the newly emerged ‘Yi-xia-xian-hou-shuo(夷夏先後說)’ in China claims that the ‘Yi(夷)’ in the east, the leading force in the Liaohe civilization, is ahead of the ‘Xia(夏" in the west.
Third, the discovery of ‘Tao-shi site(陶寺遺址)’, the capital city of Emperor ‘Yao(堯)’, officially made the ‘Yao-shun period(堯舜時代)’a history.
Fourth, in 1735, a historical record of Gojoseon(古朝鮮) and Goguryeo(高句麗), written in French by Father Jean-Baptiste Régis(1663-1738), appeared. According to the book, Gojoseon existed from the Emperor ‘Yao(堯)’ period and was a country that competed with Xia(夏), Shang(商), and Zhu(周).
Fifth, there is a new perspective in the Chinese academic community that the time for the establishment of the ‘Civilization Stage’ or ‘State Stage’ is coming up until the 3000 BC.
In particular, these five data are still new in the field of history and archaeology, so little is known to researchers in philosophy, religion and culture. These data open a new horizon for Northeast Asian history, philosophy, religion, and culture research, and a new framework of awareness is needed in this field.
By actively utilizing these new materials, it is hoped that researchers in Northeast Asia's philosophy, religion, and culture will be able to conduct research based on new interpretations in depth with a new recognition framework.
